Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Mado Digital LLC. Written to be read, not to be skimmed past.
MadoHealth is not currently operating as a live service.
No kits are being mailed, no specimens are being sequenced, and no payments are being taken. These terms describe how the service will operate once it launches, and are published now so they can be read before anyone is asked to agree to them.
1. Who we are
MadoHealth is a product of Mado Digital LLC, a Minnesota limited liability company based in Elk River, Minnesota. In these terms, “we” and “MadoHealth” mean Mado Digital LLC; “you” means the person using the service.
2. What this service is — and is not
MadoHealth is an informational sequencing service. You collect a sample at home, mail it to our laboratory partner, and we report which organisms were found in it and in what relative abundance.
This is not a medical service. We do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or condition. We do not provide medical advice. We do not employ clinicians, we do not prescribe anything, and we do not refer you for treatment. Our reports are not a substitute for evaluation by a qualified healthcare provider.
If your results raise questions, take them to a healthcare provider — you can download your full report for exactly that purpose. If you feel unwell, contact a healthcare provider rather than waiting on a sequencing result.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older and located in the United States. Some panels are unavailable in certain states because of laboratory licensing requirements; you will see what you can order after you tell us your state of residence at signup. Ordering on behalf of another person, or providing a sample that is not your own, is not permitted.
4. What you agree to do
- Give accurate information, including your state of residence and the time you collected your sample.
- Follow the collection instructions included with your kit. Collection technique materially affects what the sequencing can detect.
- Return your sample promptly. Each panel has a stability window — currently 168 hours for the Vaginal Microbiome Panel — beyond which a sample can no longer produce a result we are willing to report.
- Not resell, redistribute, or use our reports to make claims about anyone's health.
5. Your sample and your kit
Each kit carries a barcode and no personal identifiers. Our laboratory partner receives the barcode, never your name. Registering your kit is what links that barcode to your account, and that registration record is written once and never edited — if you need to correct something, we add a correction rather than rewriting history.
We may decline to report a result where the sample arrived outside its stability window, was insufficient, or was rejected by the laboratory. In those cases see our refund and replacement policy.
6. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
The Vaginal Microbiome Panel is available at $119 per test on a recurring plan billed every three months, or $149 as a single test with no commitment.
- Recurring plans renew automatically every three months until cancelled.
- You may cancel at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation stops future charges; it does not retroactively refund a completed cycle.
- Prices are in US dollars and exclude any applicable tax.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Full details are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
7. Accuracy, and its limits
Sequencing is performed by a certified laboratory partner. We report what that laboratory reports, alongside the limitations of the panel. No test is perfect: a result describes the sample we received, at the moment it was collected, for the organisms on that panel only. An organism not on the panel will not appear, and a microbiome changes over time.
We build specific safeguards into the service — specimen stability checks, structured findings rather than free-text transcription, and consistency checks between findings and the summary. They reduce error. They do not eliminate it.
8. Your account
Keep your login credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe it has been accessed by someone else. We may suspend an account we reasonably believe is being misused, used by someone under 18, or used to submit samples that are not the account holder's own.
9. Intellectual property
The MadoHealth software, reports, interpretation methodology, and branding are ours. Your sequencing data is yours. We claim no ownership of your results, and you may download and share them freely.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Because this is an informational service and not a medical one, we make no warranty that any result is clinically actionable.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version number appears at the top of this page and is recorded against your consent when you sign up, so there is always a record of which version you agreed to. Material changes will be notified by email before they take effect.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Minnesota, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Minnesota.
